Adults and seniors are enchanted by shows with historical themes such as “True Tales of New England” and performances of personal stories such as “An Evening With My Grandparents.”
As a certified teacher, Monica Peterson’s tales create interactive experiences that engage audiences and teach language arts skills. Stories from around the world come alive as listeners journey underground to a Danish troll’s cavern or dance in a South African village. Historical themes such as heroines of the American Revolution are also offered.
Maximum enrollment – 20
Mrs. Peterson conducts a ten session residency* that provides students with direct instruction in oral language skills such as volume, pitch, tempo, character voices, and the use of pauses. Story elements such as organization (beginning, middle, and end); dialogue; tone, character; and setting are also explored. The residency culminates in each student telling their own story in a mini storytelling festival. This program is perfect for after-school enrichment for schools and libraries or specialty workshops during the school day!
